Tech Tip: Word Counter

I knew that there were many chrome extensions but I never thought that one as simple as a word counter would become so handy. I have always had to use a word counter website to find out my word count if I'm writing in-browser, so this extension comes as a sweet relief to those extra steps.

I usually am the type to write the bare minimum, not that I have trouble reaching that, I just don't always have time to babble on and on so I will check periodically to make sure when I reach it I quickly end my ideas.

  1. Callie,

I really enjoyed learning about word counter. I usually just copy and paste my words into a word document because it automatically counts it there. But, I believe our professor has also mentioned word counter as a beneficial resource for this class. I might just have to get it because it sounds so much easier. I am totally for easily accessible and simple to use.

Time Strategies

Four Questions to Help You Overcome Procrastination I'd never thought of just starting on something as being a way to avoid procrastination, even if it's a small step. I always wake up in a day or even think about what I have to do the day before and yet I still manage to procrastinate till the last minute.  Time Management Tips Just for Creatives So while I feel that I am good at managing my time, I know that I am bad at managing my energy. Often, even with big plans for the day, halfway through I give up on the rest of my agenda because I'm just too tired or lack the energy to start working ahead on things. Doing the worst things first and saving the best for last seemed like a useful tip, especially considering that when you finish with something great/something easy, all the work you'd done that day seems to be easy. I often find myself saving the hardest work for last because it requires the most of my time and attention. I should definitely try swit...

Reading Notes: Ramayana Week 5

Vishvamitra, a brahmarishi, comes to Dashartha from Siddhashrama and ask for his help. Two devils have been terrorizing his dwelling, polluting his sacred fire and ruining sacrifices. Dashartha promised Vish anything, and Vish asked for the help of his son, the only one able to defeat the devils. Dash was not happy about this, but had to keep his promise so sent Rama and his brother Lakshmana to help. They came across Thataka, a rakshasa. She ravaged the country continuously. Rama challenges her with his bow, but did not want to kill her because she was female. After removing both her arms, nose, and ears, she became invisible and was still able to rain stones down upon the party. The sage urged them to finish her and Rama did with a single shot. The sage summoned spiritual weapons for Rama who in turn asked for them to wait to when they were most needed, and he thought about them, to appear.  Maricha and other rashasas appeared for a surprise attack on the offering and Rama summon...

Week 8 Progress

Looking back at my blog I definitely feel it’s coming along great. I will say it feels empty in some aspects as I have been skipping on doing some reading notes. I often do my post very last minute, but this is a commonality between all my classes. I feel the “grace period” as just an extended deadline so I often just wait to complete the posts in the morning. That’s not to say I’m not busy because I am as this is my final semester at OU and I am taking a lot of film production classes. I want to try to change up my blog post schedules to help with the last minute timing..may be difficult at first but I think it’s doable. I’d also love to write more descriptively, put more details into the characters and their environments. I still don’t think I need to change the appearances of my blogs, I like their simple looks. Personal photo of me, my dogs, and my parents dogs.  I know this photo doesn’t exactly seem “motivating”, but it makes me  happy which in turn lightens m...
